RIHOSO

Membership and Event Terms

Effective October 26, 2026. Membership is a paid program supporting RIHOSO's horological community and educational mission. Accept these Terms at enrollment. The Website Terms apply to site use and the Exchange.

1. Dues duration and renewal

Annual dues are $120 for 12 months, with the final amount and applicable tax displayed before payment. Membership begins on confirmed payment. A renewal purchased before expiry adds 12 months to the current expiry date. Membership does not automatically renew and no recurring charge is authorized. A reminder may be sent, but the member is responsible for renewing. Any future automatic renewal program requires separate disclosures and affirmative consent before recurring charges begin.

2. Benefits and status

Benefits are those identified on the enrollment page at purchase, which should be retained with the member's receipt. They may include access to scheduled monthly meetings, educational presentations, newsletters, show and tell, selected event discounts and the 5 percent Exchange seller commission. Admission remains subject to capacity, registration, venue requirements and clearly disclosed separate charges; membership does not include every dinner, drink, course or event. If a promised material benefit cannot be supplied, RIHOSO will offer a reasonable substitute or appropriate pro rata refund rather than remove it without remedy.

The seller discount applies only to orders paid while the selling member is active and eligible. It does not apply retroactively and cannot be transferred by lending an account. The member directory is optional; only information the member affirmatively elects to share is displayed, with its audience explained and a withdrawal option. Membership does not guarantee a scholarship, job, business referral, watch allocation or profit. Program membership confers no ownership or profit distribution right. Any corporate voting or inspection rights are determined by governing documents and law and are not waived by these Terms.

3. Use of revenue and gifts

Membership dues and retained marketplace commissions support educational and community programs, watchmaking scholarships and reasonable operating expenses, including payroll, marketing, technology and administration. RIHOSO's board allocates unrestricted revenue consistent with its mission and legal duties; no fixed share of each payment is promised for scholarships. Fees and dues are not represented as tax deductible donations. A separate gift is subject to its written acknowledgment, any accepted restriction and applicable tax law. Scholarships use separately published eligibility and selection rules; paying dues does not purchase selection priority.

4. Refunds conduct and suspension

You may request a full dues refund within 14 calendar days after payment if no membership benefit has been used, including a discounted seller transaction or member event. Thereafter dues are generally nonrefundable except as stated here or required by law. If RIHOSO permanently discontinues the program, it will refund the unused proportion of the term. Price and benefit changes apply to future paid terms after disclosure.

Members must behave respectfully, avoid harassment, discrimination, threats and fraud, and follow reasonable venue and safety directions. RIHOSO may suspend attendance immediately for a credible safety risk. Before final termination for serious or repeated misconduct, it will provide the reason and a reasonable opportunity to respond where practicable. A reviewer without a relevant conflict will consider a written appeal. If membership is terminated, RIHOSO will refund the unused term pro rata, without extinguishing separately established debts or claims. Mandatory rights under law and governing documents remain available.

5. Events education and personal property

Each paid event must disclose date, venue, price, included services, accessibility contact and cancellation terms before payment. If RIHOSO cancels a paid event, it will refund the ticket price and mandatory event fees. For a rescheduled event, attendees may choose the new date or a refund. An attendee cancellation follows the event's disclosed policy, subject to law. Membership fees are addressed separately above.

Attend responsibly and follow venue rules. Alcohol is restricted to persons legally eligible to consume it; do not drink and drive. Minors may attend only events expressly permitting them, with appropriate guardian consent and supervision. Educational demonstrations are not advice about the value or safety of a particular watch and do not confer a professional certification. Do not handle another person's watch without permission. Personal property remains in its owner's care unless RIHOSO expressly accepts custody under a documented arrangement. This does not exclude responsibility for RIHOSO's own negligence or mandatory legal obligations. No blanket injury release is imposed here. Any higher risk workshop requires a separate activity specific agreement.

RIHOSO will explain event photography practices and provide a reasonable way to decline identifiable promotional photography. A general attendance agreement does not authorize advertising endorsements. Obtain separate permission for posed promotional use and appropriate guardian consent for minors.
